Working principle:
Upper tube is dynamic (measuring the air pressure of front opening, air is compressed into airspeed tube), the bottom tube is static (measuring the side port airspeed tube)
Operation Check:
You can use APM Planner or stand on the ground to got the numerical value.
Blowing into a pitot tube to observe the response.
Zero in the still air and small value oscillation (2-3) are normal.
The airspeed change with the pressure's square root.So the change under close to zero pressure difference is very small,while in flight need more pressure to generate the estimated speed changes.
If you see the most numerical value is 0,1,2, the occasional rebound to 3 or 4, it is normal.
You will not see this change in flight.
