Born in 1949 at Hee, one of the villages of Sikkim joined Agriculture Service in the Government of Sikkim in 1975. He held a number of posts during 32 years of his service period and contributed a lot of the development of agriculture and horticulture in mountainous Sikkim. He retired in 2007 as Principal Director (Natural Resource Management), Government of Sikkim.
