His prime area of research is the communicative dimension of development-governance interface. He has also co-edited The Information, Communication and Technology: From Early to Post-Colonial India (2005). His essays have been published in edited volumes and journals from India and abroad. Kaberi Chakrabarti: Senior Lecturer, Department of Political Science, Calcutta University. Her areas of research and teaching include Communication Studies and Development Administration. Her most recent publication is a co-authored (with Mohit Bhattacharya) volume on Social Theory and Development Administration. Sobhanlas Datta Gupta: Surendra Nath Banerjee Professor of Political Science, University of Calcutta, and Coordinator, UGC-sponsored DRS Programme in Political Science, Calcutta University. His prime area of research is Political Theory.
