A lovely vintage chintz bowl with the matching saucer, made by The Hotta Yu Shotun Co. & Pottery in the 1920. The shop selling the wares was the Hotta Yu Co. of Japan.The use of the word "Shoten" means "shop which sells wares fired from its own kilns". The pottery mark is likely to be from the 1920-30's. The chintz pattern is accented by gold on the handles and on the scalloped rim on the saucer. The pink, blue and yellow roses are set on a beautiful light creamy porcelain.Beside a bowl,it can also be used as a beautiful vaseThe bowl is 3 1/2" tall x 4 1/2 wide (including handles).
