This evening bag is lavishly embellished on the front with embroidery in metal-thread. The design is intact and flawless. The velvet is dark and rich, a good true blue.
This purse has three pockets inside; two small ones lined with a hint of gold at the top edge, and one large one opposite them on the inside which has no such embellishment. The lining looks pristine. The purse closes securely with a chrome/silver-toned snap closure.
Overall this piece is in excellent vintage condition (clean and without any deterioration), and is strong enough for modern use. This style of purse was popular from in early 1900
Metal Embroidery is called Goldwork, regardless of which metal is being used. This kind of metalwork is also called Zardozi in the East. Both in the East and in Europe Metal Embroidery was historically most popular among royalty and the nobility, as few others could afford it. Only after the industrial revolution did metal-thread embroidery become obtainable by the general public. Even so, it is still a rare art-form.
This beautiful vintage velveteen handbag is ready for a night on the town! Such a cute little vintage clutch.
MATERIAL: ultra soft velveteen fabric
CONDITION: New
SHIPPING TIME: The purse will be shipped within 2-3 business days of your payment.
NOTE: We carefully inspect each item prior to listing. We attempt to describe every item with great accuracy. Items are shipped from a smoke-free and pets free environment.
