This is another piece from the miniature shop that closed awhile ago and has been stored. This piece, however, had been used, I would assume, for display since there is adhesive on the back and there is no box. It's well worth a new home though!!
It's done in a very heavy plaster or resin material and must be "veined" throughout since you can evidence of a continuing "pattern" on the bottom. Done in white with black and gray veining, black inner mantle, it is a most elegant addition to a room. There is a bit of "gold" coloring, some on the top and some down one side and very vaguely on the other. I thought at first that it might be discoloring, but I'm not totally sure. It could very
well be a bit of a third color that is purposely light. It certainly doesn't detract in any way from the front.
It measures 6-1/2" across, 4-1/2" tall, and is a tidy 1" deep. Opening is 3-1/2" wide x 2-3/4".
Love the "people" molded into the sides! Very unique.

This piece is worthy of a great setting; it's beautifully done!
