  • Description
Here's a very nice vintage postcard featuring the Gettysburg National Museum, "Home of the Electrical Map", in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It shows a crowd of spectators and military officials watching a unit of soldier's marching in formation. The museum building is festooned with flags and patriotic banners.

The description on the back states: "Located near the spot where Abraham Lincoln delivered the immortal Gettysburg Address, contains the NATION'S LARGEST COLLECTION of Civil War Relics and the WORLD'S ONLY ELECTRICAL MAP. The Electrical Map re-enacts the Battle of Gettysburg."

The card is identified as a "COLOURPICTURE" PUBLICATION, Boston 15, Mass., U.S.A.. It carries the identification code "K8018".

Size: approx. 3½" x 5½"

Date: Not dated, but probably from the 1950s, or perhaps earlier.

Condition: Good, I'd say. The card is unused, with very slight edge wear. However, both sides (mostly the back) show discoloration from long term storage in a standard postcard album. (Please see scans.)

MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
