The Witnesses CD Tunnel Vision NYC super rock $7.99 ~ FREE SHIPPING
$7.99 ~ FREE SHIPPING
Hello. I spent nearly 10 years selling on that other site (you can check my feedback there; It's under the same ID as this one; over 3200 positives, 99.7%). But I thought I'd give this new site a try.
I'm just getting started here, so please excuse the amateur appearance. I'll have the place looking better shortly.
Like all of my cds, this is an Original CD, with original inserts (NO CD-Rs or bootlegs).....
The Witnesses didn`t choose rock and roll; rock and roll chose them. A world without these guys playing in a garage band would be like a world in which Keith Richards works as an accountant."R ather than track in grime from the same muddy fields of blues and country plundered by the Stones, the Witnesses are content to just bypass the middleman and plunder the Stones themselves. Luckily, their tenth generation absorption of `60s R&B is still a hell of a lot more authentic than most of today`s garage revivalists. The group`s ability to navigate such heavily congested waters is no doubt due to a four-pronged attack of youthful exuberance, sexual tension, a great image, and melodies almost worthy of the Jagger/Richards name. 4 stars"-JunkMEdia. "The Witnesses have the retro "look" down, but what about the music? It is my pleasure to report that their Exile-era-Stones sound is just as authentic as their vintage threads. In a day in age when just about every new band who even thought about listening to old records is labeled "retro", it`s easy to be put off by that label. With The Witnesses, it`s different. Tunnel Vision honestly sounds like it could have been released forty years ago. When the fuzzy guitar lead of the opening track "Mannequin" starts creeping through your speakers, you`ll swear that the ghost of the MC5 has taken over your stereo. During the forty minute run-time of the record, the Brooklyn-based five piece runs through an utterly convincing garage-rock workout that`s both heavy on attitude and sexy as fugk - owing mostly to the high-pitched wails of Bloomgarden, who takes over lead vocal duties on several tracks. This is baby-making music, folks.I`m sure there are a lot of people out there who are going to criticize The Witnesses for borrowing a little too liberally from the sounds of the 60s. While it is certainly true that this is not the most original music around, The Witnesses more than make upfor what they lack in innovation with boundless energy and passion. And isn`t that what rock and roll is supposed to be about in the first place?
