Large handmade ladies linen hanky Marghab style embroidery antique linens ll2109

A lovely white linen hanky all handmade from applique and embroidery to the hand rolled hem. Most of the detail is in on quadrant with a large butterfly at the corner, a smaller butterfly hovering and leaves and flowers appliqued and embroidered in the Marghab style. The other three corners each have a French knot flower and a few other knots.

Please note that I have no reason to believe this is genuine Marghab but it is in the style of. This hanky is large enough to be a napkin but the linen is fine hankerchief linen. It is 16 inches square. Condition is perfect but has been used or at least laundered.
