Description for this item:
"The St. Matthew's School House" Kit #3136
by Scale Model Masterpieces formerly Thomas A. Yorke Enterprises HO/HOn3/HOn2/HOn30
Brand New Updated Kit! Footprint: 2-1/2" wide x 4-1/2' long.
Small in stature; huge in detail. The prototype for this structure was one of the hundreds of photographs done for the Farm Security Administration by Walker Evans. The photo for this particular inspiration was about 1936 somewhere in Alabama. This structure is a complete freestanding structure that may be used alone or combined with other period structures.
This typical backwoods structure portraying a small town, one room school only differs in two ways from the original photograph. The original Thomas A Yorke Ent design had a tar paper roof instead of a shingle roof. Doctor Ben's Precision Rustic Shake Shingles have been included in this kit to better model the prototype. Secondly, the bell tower is slightly taller than to prototype in order to ease the construction by not having to construct a combine angled roof.
This Newly Updated Kit comes LabStone casting using the original Thomas A Yorke Hydrocal molds of very nicely detailed wood clapboard original carvings, Grandt Line windows & doors, smokejack/chimney, Kappler Lumber, scale drawings, detailed assembly instructions including painting & weathering, color photo.
AND Doctor Ben's Precision Rustic Shake Shingles. By the way, who says that it has to be a school house...how about a lighthouse or grain mill?
Scale Model Masterpieces Details & Accessories are composed of UNFINISHED/UNASSEMBLED Labstone Gypsum and/or Color-Cast resin parts/castings. Assembly & Finish is/maybe required. If assembly is needed, the use of most CA and/or plastic cements. Staining, painting, and weathering may be completed by hand or an air brush. Want to know how to weather your finished model? See our Doctor Ben’s Products and the four How-To booklets available. The above image(s) best describes this item assembled (if required) & its design. As always, if you’re not sure; ASK Questions!
