A lovely jewelry box made of mahogany tone wood with a ceramic tile in the lid decorated by Kathryn White. The inside is black velvet.
Inside the lid is four hooks to hang chains or pendants with a pocket at the bottom to keep them under control. The bottom of the jewelry box has 7 pillowed slots to hold rings (these are also great for hoop earrings) in one half and an open space deep enough to accommodate bangle bracelets up to 1.5 inches wide.
The tile in the lid is a reproduction of a Kathryn White still life featuring a red vase of open red roses of various hues on an ornate table with white cloth and a clear jar with 6 red straw flowers(?).
Not sure if this is ceramic or other material as it has a plasticized coating that makes it shiny and protects the tile. Also not sure what wood the box is made of but it has the color of mahogany and is wood. The box has no clasp but a carved out notch for easy access. The lining may be Preserv fabric that keeps your jewelry from tarnishing. It feels like it but I can't find any info that makes that claim.
