Vintage EIGHT MEN ON A RAFT Puzzle / Game (No. C44) - by W.C. Horn, Bro. & Co.
Here's a simple vintage wooden board game / puzzle called "EIGHT MEN ON A RAFT". It consists of a wooden board with 9 holes, and eight pegs (4 each of 2 different colors). It comes in a simple box which includes a set of rules explaining the object of the game / puzzle.
The piece was made by W.C. HORN, BRO. & CO., "Manufacturers Since 1846" and "NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS FOR ADULT GAMES".
Size: Board: approx. 5" x 1-3/4" x 1/2"; pegs: approx. 1-1/8" long
Date: Not dated, but appears to be from the 1940s or 1950s.
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The board and pegs are in excellent condition, while the instruction sheet is lightly soiled and the box has some spot staining on the top. (Please see scans.)
