Absolutely stunning necklace from the Miao Hmong hill tribe people along the Laos China border. The coin pieces are made by hand with intricately wrapped thin silver/brass wire and collected during my recent trip to the Hmong villages. The chain was put on by me.
The Miao Hmong traditionally believe that the silver in their jewelry has the ability to keep away evil spirits that are central to their spiritual beliefs. Wearing this necklace therefor encourages the good spirits to bring good luck and protection to the wearer.
The coiled silver design symbolized the interconnectedness and eternal nature of the universe.
A gorgeous and very unique necklace to be found nowhere else but the Hmong villages and right here!
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
