Awesome spiked wide cuff bracelet from the Miao Hmong hill tribes. Spectacular!
This piece was made by the Hmong hill tribes in Northern Laos (near the China border). The metal is a mixture of silver and brass, metal traditionally used by this tribe.
About 4" long
Well-made to adjust to any wrist size, easily pull open and squeeze shut. The inner circumference of the piece is about 7.5" (19 cm).
The Miao (a subgroup of the Hmong people) believe that silver scares away evil spirits. The dramatic spikes are actually meant to get attention from evil spirits to keep them away, keeping the bearer of this bracelet and her family safe from harm.
A really cool relic of traditional Southeast Asian tribal culture!
