This corde vintage handbag was made by Gold Seal in the USA. This is a vintage black corde handbag that has curlecues on the front. The back is plain radiating circles of corde.
The bag is constructed on a silver tone frame that is chased on the inside. It has a very Art Deco clasp that lifts to open, snaps to close and has a lined corde hand strap.
The inside is lined in black rayon. The back wall has a pocket fronted by a slip in mirror pocket. The inside is clean and odor free. The bag is 9 x 6 with a 3 inch gusset.
The condition is quite good for a bag so old. The frame has minor scratching but is hidden from view on the inside. The only real problem is that someone had packed or stored the bag in tight quarters and the cardboard lining the bottom got bent and it sags.
There is a way to correct this if you are handy. The lining has a bottom seam which if opened carefully and the old stiffening removed, it could be replaced with new cardboard or other product which would end the sag.
Photo correction: The first two photos make the bag look dirty. It is not.
