Slag Glass Owl Figurine by Imperial Glass Company 1962
This is Hoot Less Owl slag glass owl figurine, or paperweight, in caramel. The Imperial Glass Company introduced their slag glass line in the early 1960's. Slag glass became very popular with the public due to it's fine workmanship and beauty. The Imperial mark is on his left wing.
Height: 4 inches. Circa 1962. Mr. Hoot Less is in good condition - not very good or excellent. He has a 1/16th inch nick on one ear (see close-up photo). Even with a 10x loupe, it is very hard to tell if he's been repaired by a glassman. The slope of that ear is different than the good ear. But all I see is a 1.5 mm teeny-tiny nick. The damage described and the possibility of his having been repaired is reflected in our price. (#55076-CE)
