The record and labels are in excellent / near-mint condition, with virtually no signs of use. The jacket , FEATURING BEAUTIFUL HIGH-GLOSS ORIGINAL POSTER ART, is in very good / excellent condition, with minor signs of wear.
This item is the British pressing of the American film soundtrack, with cover art differing from the U.S. Soundtrack. The actual material is (as far as I can tell), excatly the same (and in the same sequence) as the U.S. pressing.
It's on RCA VICTOR RECORDS / MONO / CAT# RB-6777

Songs include: Consider Yourself , Where Is Love? , As Long As He Needs Me , Oom-Pah-Pah and I'd Do Anything .

THE COMPOSER:

After exhibiting phenemonal talent and versatility as a composer/lyricist with this score from OLIVER! , LIONEL BART never recaptured the staggering success of this project. Though he still capably composed wonderful theatre music, his succeeding projects (many, like Oliver!, adapted from great works of literature) failed to find an appreciative audience. Some of his other Broadway / London productions are: Quasimodo (based on The Hunchback of Notre Dame ), Twang (based on Robin Hood ), La Strada (based on the Fellini film), Fings Ain't Wot They Used to Be , Blitz! and Maggie May .

THE FILM:

OLIVER! (1968), a much-loved musical film, is adapted from the Broadway and London stage success which is based on Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist . It also stars OLIVER REED and MARK LESTER , as Oliver. Directed by CAROL REED .

Surprisingly, this acclaimed and award-winning MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK is NOT AVAILABLE ON CD and is OUT-OF-PRINT in all formats!
