VINTAGE * 1950’s *FLORAL EMROIDERED CHANGE PURSE * COTTON EMBOIRDERY * LEATHER INTERIOR * METAL FRAME WITH TOP CLOSURE * PERFECT WORKING CONDITION * OVERALL GOOD CONDITION *
FEATURES:
. Stury gold metal frame with top snap closure
. Interior 3 leather compartments, one middle divider has 3 tears in the top -- 1/8”, ¼’ and ½” (please see pics)
. Exterior embroidered (possibly hand embroidered) floral designs with leather size trim
. Measures 4 ¾” long x 2 ¾” high x ¾” wide when closed; top opens to 4 ¾” wide
. Weighs 3 ounces
Another one of “Mrs. Wright’s” treasures! My maternal grandmother was born in 1884, and emigrated to this country with a baby and her husband after WWI. She had many different jobs in her life, running a small farm, owning a yarn shop…and at one point, taking care of elderly people.
Mrs. Wright was one of her clients: very wealthy, a very old woman, living in a Victorian mansion full of “stuff”. My grandmother would often bring us “gifts”.
My mother had it and recently gave it to me. At 87, she decided it was time for someone else to enjoy it!! It’s got a lot of character and charm.
