This is a stunning set consisting of a solid hallmarked English Sterling silver and blue Guilloche enamel cigarette case and a powder compact both beautifully presented in a velvet and silk lined leather case.
Both pieces carry stamped hallmarks for the makers H Pidduck & Sons who were quality Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, makers and retailers in Hanley, Stoke, England. They are assayed for Birmingham and dated 1938.
Sizes: Cigarette case 8.1x7.5 cm, compact 6.5x6.5 cm
The condition of these is outstanding and they appear without any sign of use. On the lids they are finely engraved and finished in a most beautiful blue colour. They fit nicely in the hand and feel silky smooth, they open smoothly and close with a good snap as they should.
There are a few tiny expected age related blemishes on the gold interior. There is no scratch or other damage or defect to the enamel as so often is the case with this type of objects. We guarantee you will not find any others in better condition than this set.
The hinged leather case has a tortoiseshell like pattern and colour with a gold border on the lid. There are a few scuff marks to the corners of the base commensurate with age.
This set would make a wonderful gift to someone very special.
