Perhaps the best sounding game on the Sega Genesis, Gauntlet IV is a hidden gem with fantastic music.
I don't know what funky tricks Tengen did to the infamous Genesis/Mega Drive sound chip but Gauntlet IV's soundtrack is easily right up there with Street of Rage 2 and Thunder Force 3 (Honorable mention goes to Super Hydlide).
Besides the outstanding music the game is quite fun to play and adds a few interesting twists to the old tired Gauntlet formula. With its tight controls, fun gameplay and superb music I have no hesitation highly recommending this title.
