Embossed by owner on title page and small rubber stamped owner name on half title. Covers foxed. Small label at bottom margin of front cover. One inch piece of yellow tape on bottom of spine. Printed slip: 'With Lt. -Co. Urwick's compliments' laid in. Also laid in is a 1955 booklet reprint from the British Management Review: Lieutenant-Colonel Lyndall Fownes Urwick, Recipient of the Gold Medal of CIOS, 1951. The booklet is in very good condition with a small skinned spot where a label was removed at bottom edge of front cover. Lyndall Fownes Urwick (1891-1983) was an British management consultant and business thinker. He is recognized for integrating the ideas of earlier theorists like Henri Fayol into a comprehensive theory of management administration. He wrote an influential book called The Elements of Business Administration, published in 1943. With Luther Gulick, he founded the academic journal Administrative Science Quarterly (Urwick, Lyndall)
