Vintage Hand-crafted Oriental Yixing Clay Teapot - Dreamland (8 oz)
This small teapot is 100% handmade with clay. It is unglazed and neatly accented with speckles of beige-coloured grain on its body, and elegant filigree curves on its spout and handle. Its "Dreamland" title is derived from Chinese art where clouds occupy most of the paintings. The implied meaning of this charm symbol is that, auspicious clouds, or so it is called, represent the heavens and also good luck because the Chinese word for cloud, yun (云), is pronounced the same as yun (运), meaning "luck" or "fortune".
This teapot can be perceived as Yixing-inspired clay teapot that was first handcrafted by a monk during Zhengde Emperor (1502-1521) in Yixing, China. This precious item is a must-have collectible for antique and pottery enthusiasts because of its whimsical shape, although one can brew a small cup of Black or Oolong tea to relive the ancient era.
