This plant is grown in greenhouses, winter gardens, orangery’s, outdoors during summer and in places sheltered from wind. It is necessary to hold seeds in warm water for a couple of hours before sowing, seeds germinate for a long time. When the plant has grown to 30 cm, the top of the plant is nipped, so that more side sprouts could grow.
The fruit of hibiscus is used as food (3-6 day old embryo’s) which remind pod paprika by their form.
Suitable to be used in soups and various sauces, because it has condensation properties. The pods are frozen, dried, canned.
