Yomogi (Artemisia Princeps), a member of the chrysanthemum family, is the Japanese "wonder herb". Yomogi extract is used in leading cosmetics for beautifying skin and diminishing aging spots.

The first mention of Yomogi as an herbal treatment is in the ancient medical book "Meiibetsuroku" published in 500 AD. It describes Yomogi as a source of healing power for whatever ails a person.

Yomogi leaves contain Vitamins A, B1, B2 and C, as well as minerals such as iron, calcium and phosphorus. They give off a fresh, spring-like fragrance because they contain Eucalyptol (cineole) and other essential oils.

Japanese use Yomogi leaves for bathing (Yomogi Yu), making tea (Yomogi Cha), soap (Yomogi Sekken) and even to make sweet rice cakes called Yomogi mochi.
