This is a gorgeous vintage batik handmade from Taiwan.My fiancee and I inherited this and do not know much about the batik itself.What we do know is that it is over 40 years old (purchased in the 1960s or 1970s), and that it is in incredible condition for its age.The subject of this artwork is a Maid from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).Our maid is wearing a traditional head wrap and staring to her left side.We can use our imagination as to what she is thinking about, wearing below the neck, and looking at.She is truly beautiful and mystical.The frame is truly antique with wood and tweed, in relatively good condition.
