Few people have a take them or leave them attitude about cats. They either passionately love them or fervently hate them. This little book is sure to convert the most hardened cat hater and offer reassurance to cat lovers just why they find these animals so intriguing.

Tony Mendoza is a Cuban born photographer who is never more adept at his craft than when confronting a cat. He shoots at cat's eye level. Owen Edwards who wrote the introduction calls the book, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Cat. The minimal dialogue alternates between Ernie and Tony. Mendoza's work in in such major museums as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Ernie, A Photographer's Memoir was first published in soft cover by Capra Press in Santa Barbara, California. It was later picked up by a major publishing house and printed in hardcover. This is one of the original copies, first printing. Condition is excellent, unmarked. One light spot on the back cover that does not go though the paper.
