The Dynaudio Xeo 3 is a wireless, remote controlled actively powered compact bookshelf speaker. The loudspeaker has a fully integrated amplifier, is fully digital with integrated digital crossover and they receive a wireless music signal. The Xeo 3 just needs a Xeo Transmitter which takes music via usb, toslink or analogue. Just plug your music source into the transmitter and it will send a digital wireless signal to the speaker, simple. You dont need any ip address, no software or plugins ... nothing. They will just interact with each other. The whole system is very convient. Just connnect your music source; CD player, hifi, iphone, ipad, pc to the Xeo transmitter, and control the system with the supplied remote control. Add a second pair of Dynaudio Xeo speakers to another room and each Pair of speakers can have individual volume control as well as an individual input from the transmitter. Very easy multiroom from just one transmitter.

New and improved software launched May 2012

Switch between Input 1 / RCA and Input 1 / Minijack

3.5 mm Minijack and RCA connectors are both logged to Input 1. If you connect for example a Smartphone or Mobile Player etc. with headphone output to Minijack, Input 1 will automatically switch to Minijack. If you release the Minijack connector, it will switch back to RCA. With the Software update, both inputs can be changed manually. By pressing Input 1 button on the remote and holding the button, you can switch between Minijack and RCA.

Fixed Volume Level

Xeo speakers have their own volume level adjustment included. If the Xeo Transmitter is connected to a volume-controlled sound source, for example a TV or a Pre-Amp etc, you may want to use the sound source volume control. In this case, with the Software update the volume level of the Xeo speakers can be set to fixed level. By pressing the Mute button on the remote and holding the button, you can set speakers to a fixed LOW level. LED will blink blue to confirm. By pressing again the Mute button on the remote and holding the button, you can set speakers to a fixed HIGH level. LED will blink blue to confirm. By pressing the Volume + or - button on the remote the volume will be back to the variable level mode.

Speaker Reset

Xeo speakers can be set to default, for example if you are lost in setting up Xeo, or if left and right speakers are mismatched etc. Press and hold ON button on the remote for 5 seconds, pointing toward the speaker which you want to reset. This must be done with each speaker individually. Default settings are: Transmitter A, Analogue input (1), automatic frequency mode and high fixed volume setting. (Please lower volume level before starting the music source). Note: When doing a Xeo speaker reset, the Xeo Transmitter should be reset, too.

Transmitter Reset

Xeo Transmitter can be set to default. Switch the ID switch on the Transmitter rear panel 10 times. For example, switch back and forth between A and B. The repeated switching must be done within 10 seconds.

Fixed Frequency Mode

In factory-set Automatic Frequency mode, Xeo finds its own best transmission channel within the 2.4 GHz frequency band. To improve transmission quality, please try A and B and C setting on the Xeo Transmitter, and the according setting on the Xeo Remote. With the alternative Fixed Frequency mode, a certain fixed transmission channel within the 2.4 GHz frequency band will be set permanently. This can improve transmission stability in an abnormal environment, for example if many other WiFi devices are interfering with Xeo. Please read the following steps carefully - it needs full attention to apply the mode change successfully.

1. Switch loudspeaker ON. You can play music, so after step 10 you can hear that it was successful.
2. Set Transmitter to A (or B or C, please try all three). Ideally use the least-polluted WiFi band by using a WiFi scanner software.
3. Press button A on the remote accordingly A (or B or C) and keep on holding down for a long time.
4. Speaker LED will begin blinking. Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue – Blue - Blue (this indicates the currently chosen Frequency mode. Keep on holding the button.
5. Speaker LED will blink Red. Keep on holding the button.
6. Speaker LED will continue blinking. Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue - Blue. (this indicates the Automatic Frequency mode. Keep on holding the button.
7. Speaker LED will blink Red. Keep on holding the button.
8. Speaker LED will change blinking. BlueBlue - BlueBlue - BlueBlue - BlueBlue - BlueBlue - BlueBlue (this indicates the Fixed Frequency mode) .
9. Now release button A (or B or C) on the remote. Xeo is now set to the new mode.
10. To double-check, turn speaker OFF with the remote, then turn speaker ON with the remote, and confirm A (or B or C), and confirm Input 1 or 2 or 3. The music should be playing again, and all LED should be constantly Blue.
Note: The mode change works best if applied to each Xeo speaker individually.
Note: Xeo can be set back to normal mode: Repeat the procedure, and release button in the Automatic Frequency mode - see Step 6.
Note: This Xeo Transmitter is now locked to this pair of Xeo Speakers. More speakers or transmitters cannot be added as usual, but must also be set to Fixed Frequency mode first. Transmitter and speakers always have to be in the same mode.
