Kuleli Military School (On the Bosphorus)Another rare item for the Turkish Airlines collectors.
For a short period sometime in the 80's Turkish Airlines tried to speed up inflight service routine by serving snack in a cardboard box, on domestic routes, due to the relatively short flight times. The top cover of these boxes were designed as a large sized postcard, utilizing gravures from 19th century orientalists like Thomas Allom. It was perforated and could be taken away. In the hustle and bustle of distribution and collection before touchdown, only few people would go to the trouble of separating and taking these box tops home. Moreover who would want to give back an untidy, torn box to the nice stewardess. They were thrashed and ended up being very rare collector's items. You can see the back of the card superimposed with the front.
