Here we have a tremendous rarity and musical gem of historical proportions, with the virtually impossible to find Las Elecciones album from Grupo Maraton on the Alhambra record label. This is the only copy I have ever seen of this album.

Musically, Grupo Maraton consisted of none other than Mario Ortiz' orquesta, but the group and album concept appears to have been the brainchild of the legendary Tite Curet Alonso, who produced the album alongside Ricardo Fabregues as a satirical dialog on the political realities of Puerto Rico and the world in general.

All arrangements and musical direction handled by Angel "Cucco" Peña (who also provides notable vocals) and Pedro Negrón (who also plays timbales on the album).

A wonderful production throughout, this album speaks to many serious issues without ever losing its festive mood and sense of humor. And also of great importance, this album never loses its SWING! A great listen, and a heavy collector's item of historical significance. Don't miss it!!
