Cupuacu (pronounced coo-poo-ah-sue), latin name theobroma grandiflorum, is a luscious, nutrient rich fruit that grows in the Amazon Rainforest. It is a nearby relative to the cacoa tree - the same plant that yields chocolate and cocoa butter. The pressed seed of the Cupuacu fruit yields a moisture rich creamy butter that has an earthy aroma - similar to cocoa and sweet vanilla. Cupuacu butter is smoother and creamier than cocoa butter and absorbs better into the skin - leaving no greasy residue or shine. Cupuacu is also very rich in vitamins (particulary A and C), minerals, amino acids, fatty acids and flavanoids.
