During the charging cycle the IC regulator may not be able to match the battery loads, generating electrical spikes and voltage fluctuations. Spikes will affect the timing circuitry or damage the ECU. Voltage fluctuations will effect the analog/digital functions of sensors and turn-on-off time of the EFI actuators. Then incomplete engine combustion will occur. Incomplete combustion means loss in torque and power, carbonized pistons, polluted exhaust, increase in fuel consumption and increase of cost of ownership. When Max-Zone is installed the battery will be desulphated and the demand for charging energy is less. Thus, some of the 1-2kW of useful power is saved from the engine. With the load removed, the useful power can be transferred to the wheels, therefore resulting in torque and power increase, smoother acceleration with a quieter engine, lower fuel consumption and lower cost of ownership. A new battery has 100% charge with specific gravity of 1.265 SG and open circuit voltage of 12.73V.
