1950s CHEYENNE LODGE, Colorado Springs - Unused Postcard - Dextone
Here's a very nice vintage color postcard featuring "Cheyenne Lodge, alt. 9,500 ft., at the top of Cheyenne Mountain, Pikes Peak Region, Colo." This neat old adobe-style building has a small steam locomotive parked down in front of the stone retaining wall. Judging by the angle of the wheels, I'd guess it once ran on a cog railway. Unfortunately, the picture isn't sharp enough to make out exactly what railroad it once belonged to.
The card is numbered "No. 3548" at the upper left and "46725" at the bottom center. The card was published by Sanborn Souvenir Co., Inc., of Denver, and is described as being "Dextone - Made Direct from Kodachrome and Ansco Color by Dexter Press, Pearl River, N.Y."
Size: approx. 3½" x 5½"
Date: Not dated, but it appears to me to be from the 1950s or perhaps early 1960s.
Condition: Excellent, I'd say. The card is unused and clean, with sharp edges.
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
