This camera is a great little gadget to play with. Its a lot of fun but it can serve double duty with some serious surveillance and crime stopping power. Used for lawful purposes this sturdy camera can get all the evidence you would need, including time date stamp. One of the Key features I found with this is the ability to record sound and video at the same time.. You can buy a 600 dollar plug in, IR HD device from anywhere in USA and they will neglect to tell you the fact that there is no sound included! Why would you ever want video without sound? If two people break into your office don't you want to hear what they are saying? Or even if one is muttering to himself? Of course you would, and this one will do both..

This security clock/cam can be set to turn on video and audio recording automatically, just by the sound alone! In case the camera is facing away from the people in the room, it will still record when it detects sound over 60 db. It will run for three minutes and then record another three minutes if the sound is continuous. It can do this for many hours. It can record like this in motion activation mode as well.

Probably the best feature this has though is that you can also view each file on the SD card without having to use a separate computer.. You can scroll through the audio, photos or video and do basic edit or delete right from main screen! So you can quickly record something and then go back and check it without having to plug it in or remove the card! It accepts SD Card up to 32 Gigs but the SD card is NOT INCLUDED I used a class 4 SD card and it worked flawlessly. You can order higher class/more expensive ones but it really wont make any difference. Just in transfer speeds. Any local store will have SD cards.. A 32 GB typically costs less than 40 dollars.. Smaller ones like 4 GB start about 6 dollars and go up from there..

Another feature I like is the remote control that can be put on your key chain. I checked it to work at long distances of 30 feet and even through closed doors. Also there are NO sounds made by this clock so it is entirely covert. There are two small indicator lights that will show different functions but they are small and look like a natural part of the device. They DO NOT activate as someone passes by or triggers the motion activation.. like lesser cameras sold online. Even the 8 infrared leds are so natural you would not see it when they are on, in total darkness. It just looks like another part of the clock function.

Battery life? First off, one negative thing. You can't plug this into the usb charger and use it at the same time.. It turns off automatically once it is plugged into the laptop or charger.. That was a bummer to me. And the battery lfe is not as good as I hoped it would be. Standby time is quite long though and when I tested mine, in the motion detection mode, there was about 4-5 hours of nonstop recording time available.. If you use the IR feature, the recording time will drop to about 3-4 hours of non stop because the infrared uses more power. Fortunately standby time is so long while waiting for motion to activate it that I gave up trying to measure it after 24 hours. One other key point is that the IR and every other feature can be activated by remote control. So you can turn it on or off as needed..

I liked the easy portability of the battery operation, and I ordered two extra batteries plus the dual charger for less than 8 dollars including shipping here on ebay. As far as the range of the remote control? I tested it over 30 feet away through a closed door and around a corner. I cant promise you will get the same results but mine worked every time. It is a single push and very simple to turn on or off . There are 8 Infrared lights on it, and the IR range is good for approximately 9-10 feet of perfect visibility in total darkness. Many of these have been sold on ebay and other websites, but the instructions are totally worthless due to a terrible translation job from Chinese to English... Do a quick youtube search and there are no product reviews because no one can figure this thing out! I too bought one and could not figure out how to use the most simple of its functions. This device promises a lot, but it was impossible to test. I took about 15 hours to find someone who could speak fluent Chinese and English, and finally got the instructions translated again.. Between the two sets of translations I found my Rosetta Stone! I was able to figure out how to use every function, and it turns out to be a VERY well designed product! For any amount of money this is a superb product.. For being under 80 dollars I found it to be the best value for the money compared to anything else out there right now. Also, it does several things that models costing hundreds of dollars more, cant provide. Such as SOUND and VIDEO. Go ahead check out the others.. They carefully omit that they LACK SOUND. Who would want covert video without sound? Not me. This one has it all. Then look and see how many other products have remote control and battery operated portability with IR night vision to 10 feet. Find out how many of those are well under 100 dollars? NONE.. But the most important thing is, I took the time to rewrite out all the instructions in clear and concise English. I will include a copy of this with every sale. I have figured out every aspect of this device so I can give you the best product review possible. Will mine cost a few extra dollars? Maybe. It might not be the cheapest on ebay.. Can you take what you learn here for free and use it to buy from someone else? Sure you can..But I would rather have a knowledgeable customer whos happy, than one who feels frustrated after the sale.. Also, mine ship from right here in USA so NO 3 week wait to get it.. And only mine come with clear instructions in English. So buy from someone else and good luck using it.
