Although the overall design of the speakers are simple and take the normal rectangular shape, they really do emphasise whichever location you have placed them. Due to the shape, I wouldn’t say they are above sophisticated, but I would certainly say they are 10/10 for looking very smart. The black leather –in our case- layer, which is fixed upon an MDF unit for effective bass quality, adds a much higher level of design quality than a flashy speaker systems with sharp edges and curves. The H21 speakers definitely bring a large, but subtle touch of elegance to your environment. The plastic silver trim around the front looks great with the leather, and hides the leather stitching very well. No rough edges are found around the outskirts with the H21 speakers. The build quality of the Microlab H21 is top notch.

The weight of the speakers is very good, weighing around 2.3kg each they have a very respectable weight, while housing a small sub woofer in the back of them.

The H21 has a 5v USB connector in the back of the left and main speaker for charging your devices, such as your smartphone, as it gets its battery drained faster than an African water well while using Bluetooth. This is a very nice feature to have added to the speakers, as it would be essential to some of us who have rubbish battery run-time.

The H21 has a DC power input and power on/off switch, with a left and right (red and white) to a 3.5mm stereo jack. Lastly, in both of the speakers are the red and black copper cable connectors, for the copper while hook-up. One thing to comment on would be the total length of the copper wire supplied, which is only around two meters long. I would have liked to have seen a long cable included with a couple of cable ties, to make sure those with bigger rooms are covered. But I suppose it’s rare that you would need longer for this set of speakers, and those who do need it would only have to spend around £1/$1 to get a longer cable.
