Description: THIS ENGLAND: Autumn, 1990 (Volume 23, Number 3)
Very interesting and nostalgic issue of a glossy quarterly journal entitled This England and published "for all who love our green and pleasant land." Its primary focus seems to be on the quaint and historic aspects of England and the English countryside. Features include:

» The Little Lanes of England
» Aspects of English Towns: Shrewsbury, a hill town encircle by the Severn
» Faggies [cigarette cards]: Air Raid Precautions
» Salute The Soldier Poets: John McCrae
» Portrait of a Village: Maer, Shropshire
» Forget-Me-Nots: My First Day in Service; The Blacksmith's Shop; Grandfather's Gift; Happiness for Half-a-Crown
» Save Our Shires: Middlesex, the "Mother of London"
» Alfred Williams: The Hammer-man Poet
» English Curiosities
» English Schools: St. Paul's, London
» 50 Years of the George Cross
» Magazine Memories: Light Reading for Ladies [Woman and Home, Woman and Beauty, Modern Home, Modern Woman, My Home, Home Notes, Home Chat, etc.]
» Exploring English Surnames [Catchpole, Drew, Oliver, Curry]
» Parlour Poetry
» Don't Let Europe Rule Britannia! [editorial]
» The Cottage Homes of England
» Stars of Yesterday: Phyllis & Zena Dare
» English County Regiments: The Royal West Kent
» Wildflowers of England: Harebells
» Cornucopia: A collection of customs, curiosities & coming events
» This Earth, A Column for Countryfolk: The Goodie Man
» Postbox: Letters to the Editor
» Silver Cross of St. George
» The Glory of the Garden
» From an English Country Gargen
» English Books [book reviews]
» English Diary [coming events]
» First Beginnings
The 82-page issue is filled with many historic and charming photos, humorous drawings, interesting articles and poetry.
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The magazine is well-thumbed but still clean and fresh. The edges are slightly worn but there are no marked or torn pages.
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
