Don 2 hindi movie is an action crime film directed by Farhan Akhtar and co-written by him along with Ameet Mehta and Amrish Shah. This film is produced by Excel Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment. It is a sequel to the 2006 film, Don: The Chase Begins Again and stars Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles while Om Puri, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor play supporting characters; Hrithik Roshan appears in a cameo appearance. The plot of the film continues from the end of the first one, starting in Malaysia and moving to Europe where Don, now the king of the Asian underworld, aims to take over the European drug cartel. The film marks Farhan Akhtar's return to direction after a gap of nearly five years. It was filmed in India, Thailand, Germany, Malaysia and Switzerland.

Don having conquered the asian underworld, Don now has his sighnts set on european domination. In his way are the bosses of the existing european underworld and all law enforcement agencies. The action shifts from Kuala Lumpur to Berlin as Don must avoid assassination or arrest, whichever comes first, in order for his plan to succeed.

The film marks Farhan Akhtar's return to direction after a gap of nearly 5 years. it also marks Khan's return to playing villainous characters in lead roles since his earlier films like Darr and Baazigar and first sequel in his two-decade old career. It has released on December 23, 2011 in both 2D and 3D formats and is also available in Tamil and Telugu languages. The film was shot in India, Germany, Malaysia and Switzerland.

Don 2 has been widely appreciated for its action, direction and cinematography with Shahrukh Khan receiving accolades for his performance, though criticism has been generated regarding its pace and music. It was showcased at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.The film fetched several awards at popular award ceremonies including two Filmfare Awards for Best Sound Design and Best Action.

Don 2 became the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2011 in India, and earned a worldwide gross revenue of INR210 crore (US$41.9 million) from its Hindi version alone during the first phase of release.

Don ( Shah Rukh Khan) is back, with characteristic savior faire. This time he has a monumental heist plan where he wants to steal the currency plates of the Euro from a high security vault in Berlin and disappear into the horizon as a free bird.

The high point of the film is Shah Rukh's delineation of the character of the Don. The actor interprets him as an arrogant, agile, wicked and wild dare-devil who has the most bizarre schemes up his sleeves. But that's not all. He also has the chutzpah to carry them through. Taking off from the climax of the first film, the gangster resurfaces in Thailand after a suitable time span, creates mayhem and then, in an unprecedented and inexplicable move, surrenders before his old enemies (cop Roma), only to be sent to a Malaysian prison. Get ready for a breath taking prison-break sequence, where our maverick escapes with another old foe, Vardhan ( Boman Irani).

The rest of the film is essentially the execution of a meticulous plan where the duo chooses to rob the Germans of their currency plates. Easier said than done, but with the devious Don, rest assured, no mission is an impossible mission. Shah Rukh remains in command and never loses his foothold, neither through the dramatic sequences nor through the action cuts. But of course, didn't we know the actor always loved playing wicked despite his romantic hero image. This gives an idea that Roma still has soft corner for Don, even though he killed her brother five years ago. Don, Vardhaan, and his thugs fight and Don manages to defeat them. He then gets his immunity papers and surrenders the disc (containing the information about his associates) and the plates.He takes Roma to an ambulance. Don and Roma exchange one glance at each other before the ambulance doors close.
