A perfect example of light and shadow within this black and white infrared photograph, with a strong, yet peaceful and gentle feel to this scene, with the appearance of the old tall solid tree in silhouette as if protecting the smaller trees underneath and around it.

Taken in the church grounds of St Paul’s, Bede’s World, Jarrow in the North East of England, St. Paul’s is part of a monastic site dating back to the Saxon era, I call this area in front of the church part of the park as it resembles such, but it is in fact the churchyard and old cemetery.
