Beautiful luminous signed genuine LIMOGES-France fine white paste porcelain Egg trinket box, the top and sides with stunning butterflies. When held to the light with fingers inside the lid, their outline can be seen through the porcelain as is the case with genuine Limoges. The egg box is large, measuring 5 1/2" x 4" x 31/2", and the lid is completely removable, not hinged as with modern Limoges Egg boxes.
The Limoges-France mark is stamped in green on the base under the top of the glazing, with the name Neiman Marcus Limoges Made in France in gold. There were over 400 factories producing Limoges in the 1890-1917 period alone.
This gorgeous Egg box is in overall very good condition, with light slide scuff to the edges of the base consistent with its age. It is a lovely Limoges piece, more than worthy of being added to any collection.
