Elpida Memory, Inc. (エルピーダメモリ株式会社Erupīda Memori Kabushiki-gaisha?) (TYO: 6665) is a corporation that develops, designs, manufactures and sells dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) products. It is also a semiconductor foundry. With headquarters in Yaesu, Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, it was formed under the name NEC Hitachi Memory in 1999 by the merger of the Hitachi, Ltd. and NEC DRAM businesses. In the following year it took its present name, and in 2003 took on the Mitsubishi DRAM business. In 2004 it listed its shares in the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

In the DDR2 SDRAM product area, Elpida has used advanced process technology to develop the high-speed low-power DDR2-1066. Also, Elpida provides a line-up of products having a range of densities and low-voltage DDR2 for consumer electronics able to meet unique customer requirements in the age of growing digital convergence.

Developed DDR3 SDRAM based on the third generation of DDR SDRAM standards that operates at twice the speed of DDR2 (800-1600 Mbps) and operates at a lower power of 1.5V.
Starting in FY 2008 with high-end notebook PCs, Elpida provides an extensive lineup of DDR3 SDRAM products that are now fully established as the main memory in servers and mainstream PCs.

DETAILS

128M x 64-bit 1GB (1024MB) DDR3-1066 CL7 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory module. The components on this module include sixteen 128M x 64-bit DDR3-1066 SDRAM in FBGA packages. This 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.5V.
