Yohan Publications, Tokyo 1993. ISBN: 4896842367. 12mo (7" tall). First English edition - translated by Deborah Iwabuchi. Clean, tight copy. Ex-library book with sturdy laminated cover & usual type markings. Light edgewear, a little soiling outer edge of pages. Internal pages clean & tight. B/w illus. 200 pages.
The author light-heartedly dissects many aspects of Japan's national sport - from the severity of the morning training sessions to the hilarity of the exhibition matches. Why do wrestlers have to be so fat? Why do they throw all that salt in the ring? How can you recognize their ranking on appearances alone? etc.
