G-Unit is back and better than ever! "Elephant In The Sand" is a mixtape entirely devoted to dissing Fat Joe in every possible way imaginable. From the obvious things like his size, to things like his whack flows that often don't even rhyme, 50, Tony and Lloyd lyrically murder Joe on this brutal CD. The beef between G-Unit and Fat Joe goes way back, and I mean waaaay back, before The Game went AWOL and attacked the man who made him what he is. Several years back, there was a little GIANT war going on between Ja Rule and Murder Inc. versus Eminem and Shady Records. At the time, 50 was Em's protege and he was down to go to war for Em, not only because the man had given him the record deal of a lifetime but also because it was the perfect opportunity to show the world that he was more than just some studio gangsta that could make a club hit over a Dr. Dre beat. There were many mixtapes and diss tracks dedicated to the war of words between the Shady camp and Murder Inc., and it was the closest thing to unspeakably hateful words on wax turning into real violence since 2Pac's "Hit 'Em Up" record. There were a number of rappers that were not from Murder Inc., but decided to jump on the bandwagon and start dissing 50 and Eminem anyway, either due to an alliance with the Inc. or because they had a personal problem with 50 or Em and thought the time was right to let it out. One of those people who joined Ja Rule and began going OFF on Shady and 50 was Fat Joe, and that was the beginning of a long-running war of words between the rotund rapper and the founders of G-Unit. Since then there have been multiple radio interviews from both camps where the other side was called out for being punks and acting scared, more diss tracks on mixtapes and even retail albums, and even rumors of chain snatching and b*tch-slaps across faces. After Fat Joe's release of his "Elephant In The Room" album, 50 said that there were disses on several of the songs that were aimed at him, and then in a radio interview Fat Joe confirmed that he was talking about 50 and asked him what he was gonna do about it. Thus, the birth of the "Elephant In The Sand" mixtape, one of the most brutal, hardcore, diss mixtapes ever created, and a definite collector's item for hip hop fanatics who have followed rap beef over the years and want a really cool piece of history. This was a highly limited release and after 5,000 copies had been pressed 50 decided that he was going to try to squash the beef and he called off the rest of the copies. Basically, there was supposed to be 10,000 copies of this mixtape manufactured and only half of them were actually made before it was officially put OUT OF PRINT forever, so don't sleep on this opportunity to snag a rare collectible or you'll kick yourself later when you can't find it anywhere.
