Thai and Burmese fighters have competed against each other for centuries, both in times of war and in times of peace. Each year in April, traditional matches are held in a small town in Thailand on the Burmese border. As in years past, these bouts have few rules and the fighters don't use gloves. People from both sides of the border cheer as these guys go toe to toe. The techniques they use make modern Thai boxing seem very watered down. A true blood spot , this bare fist fighting will have you on the edge of your seat!


This event is televised in Thailand on just one day each year, and it is a day I always look forward to. The modern Thai boxing shows which are shown weekly simply cannot compare to these fights!
