This dress and the other I'm listing with it came from the estate of a woman who was at the top of the country music field, both as an entrepreneur and a producer. She had any number of glitzy and gorgeous outfits as you would expect from someone in that field! From the autographed photos alone in the house, she must have been someone very special!
This is one of the quieter ensembles...but it is certainly an elegant one. Made of a wonderful silk chiffon in that beautiful shade of light periwinkle (that's close), it's either tea length or long...since I'm not sure how tall she was. The top is made blouson with a crepe lining with dolman sleeves that start at the waist and simply float full length to the end of the sleeve where they fasten with a self-covered button. The collar is gorgeous...beaded in paths of iridescent blue bugle beads interspersed with silver and gold bugle beads and edged with gold bugle beads. It zips up the back and has shoulder pads.
The skirt is more than a full circle round and is topped with a self belt that fastens with 3 heavy snaps in a row so it's adjustable (it wouldn't cooperate for the pictures). The bodice is 16-1/2" measuring down the back zipper and 39-1/2" through the bust measuring just at the bottom of the armhole; the waistline is 24"...without stretching the elastic. The hipline measures 41" measured at the bottom of the zipper, about 7" down. All these measurements were taken on the lining. The skirt lining length is 32"; the chiffon skirt is about 32-1/2". The belt is 27-1/4" with the snaps at their snuggest; you could actually let it to 29" if necessary.
I believe it was custom made for her; there are no tags but the workmanship is beautiful. There is one tiny spot on one sleeve; I will leave that for the new owner to take care of simply because I have not found a cleaners in this area that does reputable work...I have to go 70 miles to Tulsa! I'm sure that you would want to freshen it anyway!
This is an absolutely fabulous dress, elegant and flowing, totally a dress that makes a statement. It would be perfect to attend a wedding or a premiere...it's that versatile!
