Temperature and White Balance Card Used For the majority of pictures photographers want to avoid any color cast in their Pictures. They want all colors to look exactly as they are perceived by the eye. To achieve that, you just must perform a color balancing using the semitransparent White card (5400ºK) of the set:
△ Follow the instructions in the manual of your camera about how to set the Custom white balance mode
△ Hold the white card of the MENNON CTC set closely in front of the lens and direct the camera so that the same light which illuminates the scene falls through the card onto the sensor
△ Press the button for reading and saving the white balance date, according to the Manual of your camera

But in some situations the "natural" colors might not be ideal for what you want to express in the picture. For instance every experienced photographer prefers the light with lower color temperature in the late afternoon of sunny days, to Photograph living spaces and people, because lighting with low color temperatures. (2500-3500ºK) creates a cozy atmosphere and is considered more flattering to skin tones and clothing.

With the color temperature card set, you don’t need to wait for the ideal time of the day anymore. Performing the above described color balancing using one of the 3 B-cards instead of the white card, you can emulate a late afternoon or sunset lighting whenever you want. Using one of the 3 Y-cards can for instance emulate the Magical atmosphere of the blue hour in artistic photography.
