the Ultimate™Furled Tapered Fly Fishing LeaderCrimson Red Transition FluorocarbonThisleader turns crimson red in sunlight, but is clear in the water!Professional GradeRedTransitionFluorocarbonAvailable from 12 lb to 50 lb testTapered for Perfect "flyline like" TurnoverOutlasts CurrentTapered MonoLeadersAllows Gentle, Accurate PresentationsPrecise Drag Free PresentationTippet Saving ElasticityWind Knot ResistantNo Casting FlashMemory FreeKnotlessSensitiveFlexibleStrongThisfurled taperedFluorocarbonflyfishing leader is soft, castable and yet very strong. After considerable testing we have engineered thisquality leader with premium fluorocarbon line. This is simply the very bestflyfishing leaderfor wet strength made.Ultimate Invisibility - The invisible fluorocarbon. Similar refractive index as water so fish can't see it! Ultimate Impact Strength - Proprietary 100% PVDF formula specially processed for the ultimate in impact strength. Ultimate Fluorocarbon, Diameter-for-diameter - Higher strength for the diameter of the line. Ultimate Manageability &lower memory for superior castingTheTransitionfluorocarbon line isa light goldcolor indoors under incandescent light and remainsthis coloras long as it is kept out of the sun. Once it is exposed to the sun, it "transitions" -visually changing to acrimson redcolor until it is taken out of the sun again or is submersed underwater where the UV rays do not activate the color properties of the line. The red colorwill enhance the angler'sability to see it on the water when nymphing or dry fly fishing.Underwaterthe fluorocarbon leader turns clear and the fish won't see it. Fish aren't spooked and anglers can detect strikes faster. It's like having twoleaders for the price of one. Another benefitof fluorocarbon is its ability not to absorb water which means it maintains its rated strength.Because fluorocarbon has a slick finish, it is abrasion resistant. The best part isfluorocarbon substantially outlasts monofilament line, which means less money for leaders over time.Included at the end of the leader isa small laser treated, precision made ring and a built-in loop on the other end which attaches toyour fly line via a loop-to-loop method. You can thenconnectyour tippetto theleader via the ring. The ring will allow you to change the tippet as often as you wish, withoutdamaging or shorteningthe leader. Our metal tippet rings are very light, but they are also incredibly strong.Fluorocarbon just may be the difference in clear water situations in which fish are highly pressured or “line shy.” This line comes ready to use, just add fluorocarbon tippet to create a leader of any desired length. Fluorocarbon sinks much faster than monofilament line so it is the perfect solution for nymph fishermen. Because this furled leader offers such an efficient transfer of power, expect to cast very long tippets and effectively turn over large or small flies. Amazingly long leader/tippets of up to 12 ft. (3.6m) are possible. Once you add this leader to your arsenal, you will be able to cast further, with more precision, detect more strikes and catch morefishthan ever before! This is simply the very bestflyfishing leadermade. We back this leader with a 100% money back guarantee. We have never had anyone return a leader for refund!Made in the USAHere isa simple wayto determine the correct leader for your fly rod & line system: Firstpick the largest tippet size you will use in the left column from the chart below. Then pick the suggestedleader in theright column. For example: You want to usetippet sizes rangingfrom3x to size 7x.You would pick an 8Lb test leader, because 3x is the strongest tippet you will use with this leader.Tippet Size (approximate LB Test)Furled Leader(LB Test ) 7x (2 Lb test)2.55x (4 Lb test)4.754x (6 Lb test)63x (8 Lb test)81x (12 Lb test)120x (14 Lb test)16Larger and strongertippet sizes then these require higher pound test furled leaders. Make sure the tippet is the same or lighter in strength than the leader.Additional information in our FAQ section below. Much of what you read or have been told about leadersis just a lot of hype, but believe me - this is NOT JUST ANOTHER LEADER. Read below why our leaders will outperform and outlast thepoorly made and highly advertisedfurledand store bought leaders.More About Ultimate Furled LeadersIf you have never heard of or have never seen a furled leader don't feel alone. Most fly fishermen buy whatever the fly shop has in stock and are never told about the superior attributes of furled leaders. Quite simply said, after trying one, you will wonder how you ever got along without it.Ultimate furled leaders will greatly improve your casting accuracy and your presentation from beginner to expert alike, which builds tremendous confidence the first time a beginner uses them. In the hands of a veteran fly caster you will swear you are watching the movie “A River Runs through It”. The least understood element of a fly fisherman’s equipment is the leader. Anglers spend large sums of money on rods, reels, even flylines, but place relatively little emphasis on the element of tackle that is second only to the fly in proximity to their fish: the leader. Most flyfishermen spend less than $5 on a leader and then wonder why their aggregate system will not accomplish all the things expected of it. It makes little sense to weaken a wonderful set of equipment by forcing yourself to rely on a cheap inferior leader.Wonderfurlleaders are knotless and will efficiently transmit the energy of the cast every time and because our furled leaders are knotless; there are fewer lump-and-bumps to get tangled up.Thesetapered leaders are limp enough to turn over with the slightest energy, resulting in a veryaccurate presentation. With their streamlined taper and spiraled profile,Wonderfurl Leaders are less affected by wind than other knotted leaders. The weight distribution of the leader mimics the transition in a tapered fly line and has the same effect, therefore aiding the leader in turning over. Energy is what moves fly line, and the efficient transfer of that energy from the rod to the line to the fly in the course of the cast is critical. Tapered lines and furled leaders are more effective in transferring energy through the cast because they use thicker, heavier, and stiffer line to move, and turnover, thinner lighter and more flexible line. This helps maintain line speed and makes casting easier. The transition from a fly line that weighs several times that of the average leader material to the tippet and then the fly can be a major problem if the wrong leader is used.Standard taperedleaders do not adequately transfer the power of the cast to the tippet and fly, often resulting in short or wayward casts, especially in windy conditions. This is not the case withWonderfurl leaders. If the leader is unable to turn over the fly, theline is possibly hinging or has lost energy and is prematurely terminating in the collapse of the casting loop and possibly causing a tangled mess. The simplest way to minimize casting failure is to form a gradual transition to the fly. This gradual transition of the leader is best done with theWonderfurl leader which will slow the speed of the loop until it unfolds, and often presents the fly at the end of a series of S curves on the water, allowing thefly to float without the added drag of the line. The transitional taper of theWonderfurl leader is carefully matched to the weight of your fly line so you will slow the speed of both the fly and the leader, which means you won’t hit the water with a high impact splash. Also, the taper of the leader will slow down the fly so that it does not spin into a spiral or snap like a whip at the end of your backcast. Ultimate Furled Leaders Are Better!Wonderfurl leadersprovide unmatched overstrike protection because of there superior elasticity. Throw those shock tippets away! Just hold the butt end in one hand and the fine tip in the other hand. Now outstretch your arms and feel the natural resiliency built into this leader. Don’t loose that really big fish of a lifetime in the last few feet of landing him when lots of pressure is applied. With other types of leaders, your tippet will usually part ways with that trophy when that much pressure is applied. Wonderfurl leaders absorb a lot of that energy whichnormally preventsyour tippet from the inevitable break. This is not the case with standard extruded tapered leaders, knotted hand-made leadersor the "Thread style" furled leaders that some are making. Wonderfurlleaders have been engineered to give you unparalleled performance and presentation on the water. The automated equipment we use toproduce our leadersis strictlymonitored during the production process. Thefurled leaders we make arecarefullyassembled tostrict toleranceswhichhave been developed and fine tuned over a span of many years. By automating what use to be a very labor intensive hand-made operation, we have eliminated many of theinconsistent resultsfound withother leaders. We have assembled thousands of leaders over the years and never had one returned for a refund or replacement!Don’t be fooled by others with inferior hand-made leaders who claim to make a quality product. Most furled leaders are tapered down only 3 times from the butt end to the tippet end. The Ultimate furled leaderhas acarefully designed 5-step taper with the best line available for the very best possible transfer of power from your fly rod to the fly. Keep in mind that not all furled leaders are created equal. Others have tried to duplicate our leaders with marginalto poor results.Wonderfurlmultifilament furled tapered leaders are superior to braided leaders. A braided leader has a hollow center core which tends tosoak upwater. The water-logged leaderwill sink and become heavy whichaffects casting performance.Water spray will put down your fish on the pick up of your line.
