Offered is a lovely antique sterling silver hollowware footed and pierced oval bonbon or candy dish made by Towle. It has the Towle trademark of a large script "T" enclosed by a lion. This is pattern number 4862. Also has a script "D" for Richard Dimes, an English silversmith who had immigrated to the U.S. in 1881 and started Towle's hollowware line. Also stamped B.B. & B. Co. Measures 5 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches and 3 inches high. Weighs approximately 174 grams. In very good condition. Just polished. Comes from a smoke-free environment.
