This is a lovely old dresser scarf however it has issues so please read carefully.
The dresser scarf is handmade of fine cotton that has reached a sensuous patina with use and age. It is off white or light cream in color with bright royal blue embroidery in a flower basket and ribbon motif. The baskets and bows are at both ends and the rest of the dresser scarf has half daisies joined by a long chain of embroidery. The shape is straight sides with scalloped ends. The whole scarf is edged with hand crocheted lace that is blanket stitched to the cotton.
Here are the issues:
One daisy on the side is damaged and 2 others have a stitch or two missing. Anyone with basic embroidery knowledge and a bit of blue embroidery thread can repair this. Or you can love the piece so much you ignore it.
In the same area as the broken daisy there are worn spots to the cotton. Nothing you can do about this except ignore it.
Damage is shown in the last photo.
Construction is excellent. It has no stains or fading. If you appreciate linens that have been loved for generations you will overlook the damage to this dresser scarf and love it. Or you could be a clever crafter who will create something new with the good parts.
