This stunning Art Deco lavaliere necklace dates to the late 1920s and is all original. The elaborate necklace chain measures 18 3/4" long. There is another 1 3/4" for the lavaliere drop chain to the pendant. The chain design is overlapping lacy hearts, spaced by flowers. The openwork clasp is a hook and eye type, embossed with a floral pattern. The necklace is bright and fresh.
The camphor glass pendant measures a bit over 1 1/2" long and is attached to the chain by a very Art Deco, geometric element. The camphor glass has a soft, muted appeal which looks great against skin. It is carved on the reverse in a sunburst pattern of alternating thin and thick rays. The rectangular camphor glass setting is also very Art Deco, with its geometric florishes. A central rhinestone is prong-set, has the older, softer look, but is still flashy and is a good match to the camphor glass.
The necklace, setting, and camphor glass are in exceptionally good condition. Rhodium plating is extremely durable. Rhodium is a member of the platinum family and is currently priced over $6000. per ounce.
