I'm sort of puzzled as to the purpose of this bowl and am guessing it is a flower bowl with a frog lid. The ring handle does not fold down. The condition is as I found it. No dings, dents or warps and the piece is very solid from the ring handle to the hammered bottom. It is not marked. The measurements are 7½ inches in diameter and 3½ inches high. Classic Arts and Crafts piece.
Some viewers have suggested it was to hold hot coals to keep the feet warm in open carriages and early automobiles.
