Nearly all receipts for soups, stews or roast calls for “two or three Bay Leaves”. There are several problems with using dried Bay Leaves. One - they have a very short shelf life and are usually old after you use few leaves. Two - all receipts have instructions to “remove after cooking” but if they are not removed they don’t taste well if you eat one and although it is not common they can be dangerous if swallowed.
With our Powdered Bay Leaves you can substitute 1 teaspoonful for three leaves which makes it very economical but also gives you a much more intense flavor!
